Assalamu Alaykum I am a matric student in a Muslim School. My school will be hosting a matric farwell dinner on the 2 December 2011 in a hall outside our locality in which students attend with their parents. However most of the male students come dressed in suite and tie, whilst the female students come very immodestly dressed. The dinner ends with advice by an Aalim. The hall has separate facilities for males and females. As a Muslim male I feel this gathering not desirable to attend. What is the Shari verdict on attending such gatherings?
Expose this so called 'Muslim' school. This is in imitation of the enemies of Islaam Shame on the school, the organisers, those who attend and on the 'alim' who speaks at such a gathering. He should advise himself first.
