Covering of the head of a woman

Question ID: 27760

Assalaamu Alaikum Mufti
. Trust this finds Mufti in the best of conditions Insha-Allah. I have a question regarding the covering of women I have always been under the impression that a woman should be covered completely with exception maybe to the hands and face. Recently I’ve heard that someone said there is a ruling that 60% of a woman’s head need only be covered. I’m not sure which Math-hab this is or where the proof is for this. I’ve tried doing some research but seem to be looking in the wrong place Can Mufti elaborate on this and maybe give me the rulings of the 4 main Mathaahib in this regard.

See the commentaries of the Ayats in Surah Hujaraat and Surah Noor .
Hujaraat pertains to Hijaab and Noor about Satr.
This ruling of 60 % is suspect?
