How are you dear respected mufti sahib.

1) If a Muslim genuinely thought that 1st January of every year was an actual new year for everyone including muslims and verbally said things like “happy New year”. And does dua and also said and advised others to read duas/prayers on 1st January for a good or blessed year. And then the Muslim was told that 1st January was not an actual new year for Muslims and was told that this new year is made up by kuffars and by Romans/greeks for their gods etc.
Does the Muslim become a kaafir by any of the above and by believing that 1st January of every year was an actual new year for everyone, maybe due to having lack of knowledge.

2) If a Muslim knows that Muslims have a separate new year and not 1st January of every year. But still texts and verbally says “happy New year” and advises others to do dua and does dua himself on 1st January for a good year. Does this make him a kafir even though he has no intention of kufr?

السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُاللهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ

1.) He should make sincere ‘tauba’ for his ignorance and not do it again.
2.) Although, he does not become a Kaafir, he is a major sinner.

وَعَلَيْكُمُ السَّلَام وَرَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ وَمَغْفِرَتُهُ
