Celebration of meelad-un-nabi

Question ID: 34651

Prophet Muhammad (sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam) celebrated the day of the week in which he was born by fasting on Mondays.

Imam e Muslim has recorded in his Saheeh:
Prophet Muhammad (sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam) used to fast on Monday and he reasoned it by saying: “That is the day on which I was born and the day on which I received revelations.”

Why then would celebrating the Mawlid every year in Rabi’ al-awwal be wrong if Prophet Muhammad (sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam) himself held his birthday in high esteem?

Then fast. Not have a party, eat merrily, listen to music, dance, have gender mixing, photos, videos, wastage and why just once a year, he fasted every Monday.
And true love for Nabi (S.A.W) would simply be introducing a Sunnat into your life.
