I want to open up a barber shop. Is this acceptable in Islam?

To open a barber shop is permissable but learn what you can do and what you cannot do. For example, do not shave beards or trim them less than a fist lenght, do not attend to ladies. It is not permissable for ladies to have their hair done by men. Strangers are not allowed to touch, rub, wash, massage, the head of ladies whom they can marry. Learn from the Ulema, the (3) different styles of hair levels which the Shariat encourages, then cut accordingly. Avoid cutting, hair styles which are imitating Kuffaar so

called 'hereos'. These are some broad based guidelines. Sit with your local Ulema to learn more.
