Advice for students

Question ID: 32488

Mufti sahab, please read the scenario I have presented and my related questions.

A senior Mufti sahab visited a Madrassa and delivered a speech to the students.During the speech , he offered the following advice:
” If you want to become a mazboot(solid) and jayyad(excellent) Aalim, then you must excel in both the subjects of Usool-ul-Fiqh and Mantiq. In fact , you should choose one of these fields and then aim to become of a complete master and specialist in it.”

1) Do you agree with the advice this Mufti offered to the students?Would you add anything to it?Is there any other subject which you feel is very important to becoming a good Aalim?

2) In your honourable opinion, which subject among Usool-ul-Fiqh and Mantiq is more important?

Fiqh is more important than Mantiq.
A good ‘Alim’ is one who practices more on the Shariat with sincerity and devotion, who eats Halaal, truly enjoins what is good and forbids evil fearlessly.
