(1) Islaamic History The sincere love the Sahabah(RA) had for Rasulullaah (SAW)
The families of the Mushrikeen killed during the Battle of Uhud were intent on taking revenge from the Muslims. Some of them therefore posed as Muslims and requested Rasulullaah (SAW) to send Hadhrat Sa’d bin Abi Waqqaas (RA) with them to teach them Islaam and the Qur’aan. Rasulullaah (SAW) therefore sent Hadhrat Aasim bin Thaabit (RA) at the head of ten other Sahabah (RA). Their escorts then betrayed the group and all but three were martyred in an ambush. From these, Hadhrat Abdullaah bin Taariq (RA) was martyred en route to Makkah at a place called Zahraan. Hadhrat Khubayb (RA) was handed over to Abu Sur’ah to avenge the death of his father Haarith bin Aamir and Hadhrat Zaid bin Dathna (RA) was made over to Safwaan bin Umayyah in lieu of fifty camels for killing his father. When Hadhrat Zaid (RA) was about to be executed, Abu Sufyaan asked him, “Would you now prefer that Muhammad (SAW) be executed in your place?” Hadhrat Zaid (RA) exclaimed, “By Allaah! I would give my life to prevent even a thorn pricking Rasulullaah (SAW)!” Hearing this, Abu Sufyaan said, “I have never seen anyone love someone as much as the companions of Muhammad (SAW) love him.” Hadhrat Zaid (RA) was then martyred.
(2) Allaah’s Power The heart
Allaah has given us all a heart, which serves an extremely important function. It is a piece of flesh that beats all the time without tiring. It pumps blood to all the organs of the body throughout the day and night, regardless of whether a person is awake, asleep or doing anything else. A person’s life would come to an end if the heart had to stop out of exhaustion, but Allaah keeps it beating all the time through His immense power.
(3) A Fardh The Tawaaf Ziyaarah
Allaah says in the Qur’aan, “Then they should remove their untidiness (unwanted hair and long nails), fulfil (any of) their oaths (that they may have taken) and perform Tawaaf around the Freed House (the Kabah, which has been freed from tyrants)”.

[Surah Hajj, verse 29]

It is this Tawaaf that is referred to as the Tawaaf Ziyaarah and is Fardh (obligatory).

(4) A Sunnah Kissing the Hajar Aswad
When Rasulullaah (SAW) kissed the Hajar Aswad after performing Tawaaf, he kept his mouth on it and wept for a while. Seeing him weep, Hadhrat Umar (RA) also started to weep. “O Umar!” Rasulullaah (SAW) said, “This really is the place to weep.”

[Ibn Maajah 2945, from Hadhrat Abdullaah bin Umar (RA)]

Although it is Sunnah to kiss the Hajar Aswad, to cause harm to other Muslims in the process is Haraam. Therefore, when there is a large crowd, it is best just to point the hands in the direction of the Hajar Aswad and kiss them instead.

(5) An Important Act and its Virtue The virtue of reciting Tasbeeh and the Kalimah
Rasulullaah (SAW) said, “After the Fajr Salaah when a person recites Tasbeeh (Subhaanallaah) 100 times and Tahleel (Laa Ilaaha Illallaah) 100 times, all his sins will be forgiven even if it is as much as the foam on the oceans.”

[Jam’ul Fawaa’id 9308, from Hadhrat Abu Hurayrah (RA)]

(6) A Sin Listening to music
Rasulullaah (SAW) said, “Music makes hypocrisy grow in the heart just as water makes plants grow.”

[Mishkaatul Masaabeeh Hadith 2380, from Hadhrat Jaabir (RA)]

(7) This World Eating to one’s fill
Rasulullaah (SAW) said, “There is no utensil worse to fill than the stomach. Since eating is necessary, fill a third of the stomach with food, another third with drink and leave the last third empty.”

[Tirmidhi 2380, from Hadhrat Miqdaam (RA)]

(8) The Aakhirah Recompense for the people of Imaan
Allaah says in the Qur’aan, “Their reward with their Rabb is eternal Jannaat where they shall live forever and ever. Allaah is (well) pleased with them and they are (well) pleased with Him. This (reward) is for him who fears (the punishment of) his Rabb (and does all he can to avoid it).

[Surah Bayyina, verse 8]

(9) Cures from the Qur’aan and Rasulullaah (SAW) The cure for Insomnia
When Hadhrat Khaalid bin Waleed (RA) once complained to Rasulullaah (SAW) about his inability to fall asleep, Rasulullaah (SAW) advised him to recite the following Du’aa:

“Allahumma Rabbas Samawaatis-Sab’i, wa ma adhal-lat, wa Rabbal-aradina, wa ma aqal-lat, wa Rabbash-Shaiateena, wa ma adhal-lat kun li jaran min sharri khalqika ajma’een ay-yafruta ‘alaya ahad-um-minhum, aw ay-yabghi. Azza jaruk”

TRANSLATION: O Allah! Rabb of the seven Firmaments and whatever they cover, Rabb of the seven earths and whatever they contain, Creator of the devils and whoever they mislead, Be my Protector from the evil of all Your Creatures lest some of them may hasten with insolence against me or transgress the bounds. Honoured is he who is in Your Protection and Blessed be is Your Name.

[Tirmidhi 3523, from Hadhrat Buraydah (RA)]

(10) Qur’aanic Advice
Allaah says in the Qur’aan, “hold fast to Allaah (rely only on Him and only ask Him for assistance). He is your Protecting Friend. (He is) The Best Protecting Friend and the Best Helper (with Allaah as your Protecting Friend and Helper, you need no one else)”.

[Surah Hajj, verse 78]
