|(1) Islaamic History||Allaah created the heavens and the earth in six days|
|Allaah states in the Qur’aan that he had created the earth in two days. Thereafter, Allaah raised up the mountains and filled the earth with food. All of this was completed in four days, after which Allaah created the seven heavens in two days. Allaah inspired each of the heavens with their respective directives and decorated the skies with lanterns (stars) to be a means of protection.
[Adapted from Surah HaaMeem Sajdah, verses 9-12]
|(2) Allaah’s Power||Stemming the rising of the oceans|
|If you go to the seaside, you cannot help noticing that although the water level constantly rises and falls, it never exceeds a certain level. Should it ever cross the level, it would cause tremendous damage to both life and property because two-thirds of the earth comprises of water. It is only the great might and power of Allaah that stems the rise of the ocean’s tide.|
|(3) A Fardh||Returning a borrowed item|
|If someone has in his possession an item that belongs to another person, it is Fardh for him to return the item to the owner. Allaah says in the Qur’aan, “Verily Allaah instructs you to (amicably) return trusts (that others place in your care) to their rightful owners”.
[Surah Nisaa, verse 58]
|(4) A Sunnah||Making Du’aa is an act of Ibaadah|
|Allaah says, “Supplicate (make Du’aa) to Me, I shall respond (in a manner that is most beneficial for you)”.
[Surah Mu’min, verse 60]
Rasulullaah (SAW) said, (الدعاء هو العبادة)“Du’aa is Ibaadah in itself.”
[Tirmidhi 3372, from Hadhrat Nu’maan bin Basheer (RA)]
|(5) A Nafl||The virtues of acquiring the knowledge of Deen|
|Rasulullaah (SAW) said, “Allaah will ease the path to Jannah for the person who treads the path in search of the knowledge of Deen.”
[Mustadrak 299, from Hadhrat Abu Hurayrah (RA)]
|(6) A Sin||Killing your children|
|Allaah says, “do not kill your children for fear of poverty (fearing that you will become poor by providing for them). We provide for you and for them as well (even though you may be poor).”
[Surah An’aam, verse 152]
It is Allaah’s responsibility to provide for people. It is therefore a grave sin and Haraam to kill children because of poverty or to abort a child for this reason, as people do in today’s times.
|(7) This World||A long life is both good and ill fortune|
|Someone once asked Rasulullaah (SAW), “Who is the best person?” “The person whose life is longest and whose deeds are best,” Rasulullaah (SAW) replied. When the person then asked whom the worst of people are, Rasulullaah (SAW) replied, “The person whose life is longest and whose deeds are the worst.”
[Tirmidhi 2330, from Hadhrat Abdur Rahmaan bin Abu Bakrah (RA)]
|(8) The Aakhirah||The first to be resurrected on the Day of Qiyaamah|
|Rasulullaah (SAW) once said, “We are the last of people to come to this world, but will be the first to be resurrected on the day of Hashar (when all people will be gathered together for reckoning).”
[Bukhaari 876, from Hadhrat Abu Hurayrah (RA)]
|(9) Cures from the Qur’aan and Rasulullaah (SAW)||Protecting the home from Jinn and Shayaateen|
|Rasulullaah (SAW) said, “Recite Surah Baqarah in your homes because Jinn and sorcery cannot enter the home in which Surah Baqarah is recited.”
[Mustadrak 2062, from Hadhrat Abdullaah bin Mas’ood (RA)]
Note: If Surah Baqarah is recited for forty days in succession, all Jinn and Shayaateen will flee from the house.
|(10) Advice from
|Hadhrat Aa’isha (RA) reports that Rasulullaah (SAW) said, “O Aa’isha! Abstain even from those sins that are regarded to be trivial because Allaah will question you about them as well.”
[Ibn Maajah 4243]
