(1) Islaamic History The construction of the Kabah
Thousand of years before Allaah created mankind, Allaah had commanded the angels to construct the Baytullaah (the Kabah). This was the first blessed house on earth and a place of peace and safety for the people of the world. When he arrived in the world, Hadhrat Aadam (AS) rebuilt the Kabah, but this building was raised to the heavens when the floods swept the earth during the time of Hadhrat Nooh (AS). Allaah later commanded Hadhrat Ibraheem (AS) and his son Hadhrat Ismaa’eel (AS) to rebuild the Kabah, after which Hadhrat Jibra’eel (AS) brought a valuable stone from Jannah to place at the corner of the Kabah. Allaah also sent another stone from Jannah upon which Hadhrat Ibraheem (AS) stood as he constructed the Kabah. As he built higher, the stone also rose higher so that he could reach the top. This stone is famously known as the Maqaam Ibraaheem. As time went on, the walls of the Kabah started to weaken and needed to be rebuilt. The Quraysh of Makkah did this before Rasulullaah (SAW) announced his Prophethood. They made the Kabah into a cubic design, with the Hateem area outside the building and without the back door. Allaah has made tawaaf of the Kaabah Fardh (obligatory) for all people performing Hajj and Umrah and it is the focal point and Qibla of all Muslims when they engage in Ibaadah.
(2) Allaah’s Power The sun is a sign of Allaah
Allaah has created the sun, which we perceive as a ball of fire and has been shining for thousands of years. It is from this sun that we receive heat and light and it rises every day from the east and sets each day in the west. Now think for a while – Who is it that provides fuel for the sun for all these years? Where is all the fuel coming from that allows us to have heat and light each day? Who is it that causes it to rise and set with such precision each day? Without doubt, it is only Allaah, Who has created us and everything else.
(3) A Fardh The foundation of Islaam
Rasulullaah (SAW) said that five things form the foundation of Islaam;

  1. To testify that there is none worthy of worship but Allaah and to testify that Muhammad (SAW) is the Rasul of Allaah,
  2. To establish Salaah,
  3. To pay Zakaah,
  4. To perform Hajj,
  5. And to fast during Ramadhaan.

[Bukhaari, 8 from Hadhrat Abdullaah bin Umar (RA)]

(4) A Sunnah Taking a bath when entering the state of Ihraam
When Rasulullaah (SAW) entered into the state of Ihraam, he took a bath. (Before entering into Ihraam)

[Tabraani in his Kabeer 4729, from Hadhrat Zaid bin Thaabit (RA)]

(5) An Important Act and its Virtue Performing Hajj and Umrah in succession
Rasulullaah (SAW) said, “Perform Hajj and Umrah in succession because they purge poverty and sins just as a furnace purges dirt from gold and silver. The only recompense for an accepted Hajj is Jannah.”

[Tirmidhi 810, from Hadhrat Abdullaah bin Mas’ood (RA)]

(6) A Sin Taking false oaths to sell goods
Rasulullaah (SAW) said, “Allaah will not even look with mercy at the person who sells his goods using false oaths.”

[Bukhaari 2369, from Hadhrat Abu Hurayrah (RA)]

(7) This World The elements of destruction
Allaah says in the Qur’aan, “Destruction be for every person who searches for faults (in others) and who mocks (the Mu’mineen) who (because of his extreme love for wealth, he) amasses wealth and keeps meticulous count of it (not spending any of it for Allaah’s’ pleasure). He (foolishly) thinks that his wealth will keep him alive forever. Never! (This will never be so! He will soon have to die and then) He will certainly be thrown into the “Thresher” (the Fire of Jahannam)”.

[Surah Humazah, verses 1-4]

(8) The Aakhirah The hearts of the people of Jannah shall be purified
Allaah says in the Qur’aan, “We shall remove ill feelings (towards each other) from their chests (hearts). With rivers flowing beneath them (in Jannah), they will say, “All praise is for Allaah, Who has guided us to this (guided us to adopt the beliefs and acts that earned us this reward). We would never have been rightly guided had Allaah not guided us. Most certainly, the Rusul of our Rabb came with the truth (which we can clearly witness now).” It shall be announced, “This is the Jannah that you have been made to inherit (as descendants of Aadam (AS)) because of the (good) actions that you carried out”.

[Surah A’raaf, verse 143]

(9) Cures from the Qur’aan and Rasulullaah (SAW) An important directive for medical practitioners
Rasulullaah (SAW) said, “The person who treats others without the relevant knowledge and experience will be called to task on the Day of Qiyaamah.”

[Abu Dawood 4586, from Hadhrat Abdullaah bin Amr (RA)]

(10) Qur’aanic Advice
Allaah says in the Qur’aan, “O you who have Imaan! When death draws near to any of you at the time of making a bequest (a will), there should be two just persons (present as witnesses to the will) from you (Muslims) or from another nation (non-Muslims) if you are on journey when the affliction of death befalls you”.

[Surah Maa’idah, verse 106]
