11th Muharram Just 5 Minutes

(1) Islaamic History The Shari’ah of Hadhrat Aadam (AS)
Because Hadhrat Aadam (AS) was the first man, the first Nabi and the first Rasool, the Shari’ah revealed to him was the very first for mankind. When Hadhrat Aadam (AS) and Hadhrat Hawwa (RA) descended on earth, two sets of twins were born to them, one boy, and one girl in each set. To ensure that man survives on earth, Allaah permitted the man from each set of twins to marry the woman from the next set of twins and vice versa. The law concerning sacrifices at the time was that people were to place their sacrifices upon a hill, where a fire would come from the heavens to consume it to show that it has been accepted. If the fire does not consume the sacrifice, it would be a sign that the sacrifice was not accepted.
(2) Rasulullaah (SAW)’s Miracle Healing Hadhrat Ali (RA)’s eye
When Hadhrat Ali (RA) was suffering from a painful eye condition during the Battle of Khaybar, Rasulullaah (SAW) applied some of his blessed saliva to it, causing it to be healed instantly.

[Bukhaari 2942, from Hadhrat Sahl bin Sa’d (RA)]

(3) A Fardh Allaah has no partner
It is only Allaah Who maintains and runs the system of the universe. He has no partner and no equal, the proof of which is evident in the universe itself. Allaah says in the Qur’aan, “If there were other Aaliha besides Allaah in the heavens and the earth, the (system of the) two would be in chaos”.

[Surah Ambiyaa, verse 72]

It is Fardh (obligatory) to believe that Allaah is One and that He Alone controls the system of the universe.

(4) A Sunnah Picking up a fallen morsel of food
Rasulullaah (SAW) said, “When a morsel of food falls from your hand, then clean it off and eat it, but do not leave it for Shaytaan.”

[Muslim 5301, from Hadhrat Jaabir (RA)]

(5) A Nafl The virtue of the Ishraaq Salaah
Rasulullaah (SAW) said, “The person who remains seated after performing the Fajr Salaah and then (after sunrise) performs two Rakaahs Ishraaq Salaah without talking anything but good in between, then all his sins will be forgiven even though they may be as many as the foam on the oceans.”

[Abu Dawood 1227, from Hadhrat Mu’aadh bin Jabal (RA)]

(6) A Sin Seven major sins
Rasulullaah (SAW) said, “Abstain from the seven destructive acts.” When the Sahabah (RA) asked what these were, Rasulullaah (SAW) said, “Shirk, black magic, murder, interest, devouring the wealth of orphans, fleeing from Jihaad and slandering a chaste woman.”

[Bukhaari 2766 and Muslim 262, from Hadhrat Abu Hurayrah (RA)]

(7) This World The value of this world
The Sahabah (RA) were once passing by the carcass of a dead goat, when Rasulullaah (SAW) asked them, “Why do you think the owner has discarded this in this manner?” “Because it has no value at all,” the Sahabah (RA) replied. Rasulullaah (SAW) then remarked, “This world holds less value in the eyes of Allaah than the value that the owner has for this goat.”

[Tirmidhi 1232]

(8) The Aakhirah The bedding of the people in Jahannam
Allaah says, “They will have the fire of Jahannam for a bed and a canopy (of Jahannam) on top of them (as well)”.

[Surah A’raaf, 41]

(9) Cures from the Qur’aan and Rasulullaah (SAW) Talbina is a cure for grief, fatigue and weakness
Hadhrat Aa’isha (RA) used to advise people to prepare Talbina to treat the ill, saying, “It is extremely beneficial for them, even though they may not like to eat it.”

[Bukhaari 5689]

Talbina is made by mixing crushed barley, mixing it with milk, and then adding honey to sweeten it.

(10) Qur’aanic Advice
Allaah says in the Qur’aan, “Instead of Allaah, you merely worship idols and fabricate lies (about Allaah by saying that your idols are His partners). Those (idols) that you worship instead of Allaah do not have control of your sustenance, so seek your sustenance from Allaah, worship Him and show gratitude to Him. To Him shall you be returned”.

[Surah Ankaboot, verse 17]
