Assalaamualaikum

Mufti sahab, at one silly instance our local mufti on a doubt basis said one talaq took place between me and my husband and we can do raja.. Somehow I was unable to accept the fact. So this thought haunted me day and night and there was fear of losing my husband.. I repeatedly used to ask my husband whether it is a problem. One day I asked my husband “am I still your wife?” my husband said he heard it as “are you still my wife?” hence he said no, I am still your husband. Does that constitute talaq? I want to be on a safer side hence this question. I don’t want to lose my husband. And if no talaq took place what can I do to take these things go out of my mind? I am very much scared. Please reply.. Jazakallahu Khair…

Your husband should take an oath that he heard you say 'are you still my wife' then the matter is settled. In the worst case scenario only one Talaaq has been used leaving him with two after reconciliation. Doubt is from shaytaan.
