When I was in my teens many years ago, there was a rock band I used to listen to. The band had a logo which used a certain type of font to spell out the name of the band. When the time came to make my signature for the first time, I used the same broad theme of the font in only three letters of my signature. The logo did not contain exact letters in my signature. In a way it can be said that my signature was only slightly influenced by the font of the band and it was not an exact copy.
Alhamdullilah, now well into my 30’s, I have mostly distanced myself from music. However, my signature is still the same and used in every single government document, from my bank accounts to passport to nikah namah, my national ID card, drivers license etc.
My question is that am I sinful for using a signature mildly inspired by a rock band logo ?
