I am currently a student, doing a hotel management course. This course involves doing theory and practical work. The practical experience is done through attachment to a hotel. This attachment involves training in all departments and aspects of the hotel from the lowest level i.e. a cleaner, to the levels of management.
Training in all departments also requires training in the food and beverage department. This involves training as a waiter. This requires one to serve food and drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) to guests.
Another department is the kitchens, where one has to train as a chef. This includes preparing of all kinds of food.
Insha-allah I do not intend to specialise in any of these department, but for training purposes Im required to train in these departments. So far I have been able to avoid these departments.

I would like to find out what is the Islamic ruling on this?
Am I allowed to serve/handle alcoholic beverages and serve/handle food?
