The musjid/musallah in my current area is salafi based and I find it very hostile and uncomfortable. Furthermore, their taraweeh is 8 rakaat and I end up travelling far off for 20 rakaat. The neighbouring area to where I live is more comfortable for raising a family and the musjid/musallah is hanafi based. However, unlike SA, the muslims here have implied that it is forbidden to offer salaah in that musjid and call it “Meelaadi” musjid. I think they mean that it is leaning towards what we informally regard as “sunni” in SA. Mufti Saheb What is your view about me living in that area and therefore offering salaah regularly at the “sunni” musjid/musallah? I am not easily able to afford living close to the main musjid of the City. If I try to get close tot he main musjid, I may not be able to offer every salaah in the musjid.

Stay where you can afford it. Do not into debt - Perform Salaat in that Masjid which is closest to you. Perform 20 Rakaats of Taraweeh.
