Mufti Saheb with reference to my previous question. I told my wife that when my mother is rude to her she should not keep quiet, and when my mother passes remarks, she should not keep quiet, but she must not be back chat my mother or swear at her, was I right in telling her that? Mufti I know my mother loves my son, but I know she does not like my wife. My mother is going in 3 weeks time to my sister because my sister is giving birth, but my mother said that she wants to lock one of the room doors, I can’t take all this problems Mufti, at the same time I don’t know how to be fair towards my wife and mother and not get Gunah. I told my mother that my wife will clean her own room from now on, not the maid and that my wife will do mine and hers and my son’s washing. But I want to cut the maids wages because the maid disrespects my wife because my mother and the maid talks about my wife. Will I be fair in doing that? Jazaakallah

If you do not require the room your mother wants to lock then let her do.
You cannot cut the wages of the maid on ‘dis-respect’ bases but can be done work hours related bases.
