I have question concerning fasting in Ramadaan for a diabetic person

I am type a diabetic (type 11) since 2000
. Alhamdulillah with the blessing of the Almighty I have been able to keep my fasts during the month of Ramadaan
. My diabetes has however now got to a stage where I have to commence with Insulin injections and continue with my tablets that I am currently taking (twice a day) .
I will be required to take an insulin injection after breakfast and depending on my blood sugar readings after a month the dosage may have to be increased .
I also have to take tablets twice a day i.e. morning and evening . My physician ,who is Muslim has however advised me that for medical reasons it would now no longer be possible for me to keep fast during the month of Ramadaan as the lack of eating during the day can cause my sugar levels to drop to levels which could be fatal -may have been possible to fast with tablets but not with the insulin that he has now prescribed .
The reason for my e mail is to kindly request your guidance on my predicament
