Assalaamu Alaykum Warahmatullahi Wabarakathu
. I make Dua that Hazrat Mufti Saheb is Well Insha-Allah.

JazakAllah for Hazrats valuable time. I will be brief as possible, as Hazrat may be busy.
My Daughter was married 6 months ago, the marriage did not work out for various reasons, Allah knows best.
We asked if we could come collect my daughters belongings, at first he agreed, but before we could go collect her
Belongings he sent her belongs, only one third of it in bin bags with his driver and left it at our door step.
We informed him that this was not the right way to send her goods as he could have used boxes and not bin bags.
Nevertheless, he still has Kitchenware and Linen that belongs to her, he mentioned that its in storage.

Also her Maher and jewellery that she received from him is still in his position which he did not send to her and refuses to discuss it.
Hazrat, does he have the right to hold back the Mehar and the other Jewellery that he had given to her during the marriage ?
Please advise.

Was-Salaam

He has no right to withhold any of her belongings or possessions especially her Mahr. Get some intervention by Ulema and those that signed the Nikah certificate.
