Assalaamu Alaykum.
Nowadays with the land claim issues,a lot of (white) farmers have left their farms – for their own safety – and have now settled elsewhere never to return to their original farms. On the other hand, the land claim issues are a long process thus many farms are just left empty and vacant for many years.
There is a particular farm which has been left in this condition for the past 5 years.
What is the ruling regarding hunting on the above farms? There are many buck etc there which – so to say currently belongs to no one! The original farmers have said that we don’t want anything to do with that farm and no new owners have been allocated yet.

It is permissible to hunt on those farms until either the government takes control or the original owners take possession. Then permission will have to be sort.
