Assalaamualaikum
. Dear Mufti Saheb

My very close friend says that she is a ‘Salafi.’
Many of our Ulema warn with regards to associating with ‘Salafis.’ Some have also mentioned that they are like Shias.
Honestly, I have observed that she is very particular about her Salaah (more than all that I know), practicing upon the Sunnah of our Prophet Muhammad SAW and has good character. She is also very strict in abstaining from Innovations. She refuses to follow any actions (regarding worship) that were derived by our Ulema (Indo/Pak) e.g., reciting some of the names of Allah after the Fardh Salaah with hands on head, etc; as she says that they are not from the Prophet SAW. Is she correct?
Should I continue my friendship with her? Please advise?
Sister in Islam, May Allah reward you.

Perhaps she does not know herself what is 'Salafi'! Ask her where is Allaah? If she says 'seated' on His Throne. Ask her is it necessary to follow one Imaam of Fiqh? If she says No abstain
