In madresa I learned that the only time one has to make ghusl due to nocturnal emmision is if one climaxes during sleep and then releases fluid but now i read that if one sees wetness after awaking, whether male or female, one has to make ghusl. It has become very hard for me to follow and now i’m afraid to sleep because i don’t know if my discharge came before i fell asleep or because of nocturnal emission. i don’t feel any excess discharge when i wake and the discharge is not different from my notmal discharge during the day, and i wake up as soon as any immoral activity starts in my dream due to anxiety of nocturnal emission. My question is: what must i do when i check for any discharge after awaking – do i have to make ghusl or can i regard the discharge as discharge from before i fell asleep and not nocturnal emisssion?

AsalaamuAlaikum

Check status before sleeping.
If wet- wudhu broke.
If after sleep wet without erotic dream, then no need for Ghusl.
Otherwise if with erotic dream then ghusl necessary.
