Dear Mufti,

I’m a recently divorced father of two (6 and 10 year old). Can you advise me on

1) How to communicate the situation to the children in a way that they can understand?

2) The children symbolise the connection between me and my ex. How do I manage interaction and visits with my children, considering my ex-wife is their guardian? E.g. can we attend school meetings/parents days together?

1) Your action of separation will automatically lead to them asking questions then you can explain.

2) You may visit them. all 'together' function must be avoided. Divide and delegate duties and responsibilities.
