Assalamu alaykum.

I want to seek your advice regarding choosing a shaykh of tasawuf for bayat.

I know of three shaykhs.I will refer to them as Shaykh A ,Shaykh B and Shaykh C.
Now I will tell you some characteristics of all three of them and seek your advice as to which one(if any) is suitable to become a mureed of.

Shaykh A:

-Is an Aalim.
-Allows his mureeds to photograph him.
– The only naseehat he offers to his mureeds is related to ibadat i.e to be regular in Salaah, zikr ,tilawat and he gives wazifa’s also. Apart from that he does not encourage his mureeds to follow the Ahkaamaat of the Shariah in their daily lives eg beard, purdah, sunnah clothing, abstaining from television,.music etc

Shaykh B:

– Is an Aalim.
– The only naseehat he offers to his mureeds is related to ibadat i.e to be regular in Salaah, zikr ,tilawat and he gives wazifas also.Apart from that he does not encourage his mureeds to follow the Ahkaamaat of the Shariah in their daily lives eg beard, purdah, sunnah clothing, abstaining from television,.music etc. (Just like shaykh A)
– A mureed requested him to pray for his wife for success in her career of medicine. He agreed. Even though women should not be encouraged to work.
-He himself is very strict about purdah,he never speaks to women or interacts with them.

Shaykh C:
-Is a moderate Barelvi.
-Is an Aalim.
-Very strict on Shariah and Sunnah, and encourages his mureeds also with regards to strict observance of the Ahkaamat of Shariah and Sunnah in their daily lives.

After reading the characteristics of all three, kindly comment on whether they appear to be genuine shaykhs and whether it would be beneficial to be bayat to any of them.
