1. I have 2 sons, lets call them Ibrahim and Ismail, one of them [Ibrahim] has been blessed by ALLAH with wealth (in addition to all His other bounties, of course). The second son (Ismail) has not been so well endowed financially. While I am still alive is it permissable for me to gift Ismail financial assistance without gifting the same amount to Ibrahim? Incidentally, Ibrahim says he has no objection to me assisting Ismail.
2. I receive a monthly pension from the University where I worked. Both of my sons say, that should I pass away before my wife, they do not want any of my pension share due to them ; all of it must go to my wife. They are prepared to give the undertaking in writing. Is this permissable in Shariah?
3. I have loaned my son Ismail ‘x’ amount of money to purchase a house because he did not want to take out a Bond to purchase the house. I make Shukr to ALLAH for having guided him in such thinking and action. Presently he is re-paying me ‘y’ amount per month. Is it permissable for me to state in my Will that should I pass away before he has repaid the loan the balance owing does not have to be re-paid to the Estate? My son Ibrahim; my wife have no objection to this wish of mine.
