Dear Mufti,

i understand the concept of the requirement of following one of the 4 Mazhabs, and then following exclusively that one Mazhab only….

in todays time with the advent of modern technology and resources information on almost everything is easily available including extensive material on the Four Imaams and the respective Mazhabs,

my question is this:-
What is the ruling on adhering to a madhhab on a specific issue when it is clear that other madhhabs have stronger evidence?

When you have chosen a Madhab, stick to it. The Ilm and Taqwa of the Imaams of Fiqh was par excellence. They have proofs which are good enough for our salvation and pleasing Allaah, which should be our aim, and if it is then we are successful. If your suggested method is adopted can you imagine, every man behind a computer will invent a Madhab, what confusion will result.
