Question
AsalaamUalaykum
I have embraced Islam but unfortunately wearing eyeliner has grown so much a part of me that i look abnormal, pale, & feel down without it. I am not in Parda but do wear permissable clothing here in Cape Town, so my face is not covered. Is it permissable for a me to wear eyeliner outside the home? I do not do it with the intention of attracting anyone other than my husband. Also, can i make Wudu wearing eyeliner?
Jazakallah Ghair,
Wasalaam
Answer
You should not use too much (i.e noticeable) eyeliner outside where men can see you.
Wudhu on porous eyeliner is permissible.

Question
Assalaamualaikum.
please advise what a girl should do with regards to perpectual white discharge. Please tell me if this qualifies me to be a mazoor or not
~i currently make fresh wuthu for every salaah as it is very rare that i dont get discharge between each salaah
~ I most of the time have about 15-20 min(sometimes more sumtimes less) after i make wudthu to read salaah before my wuthu breaks due to white discharge
~most of the time i cant feel it so only if i go to the toilet i will see the stain and know that my wuthu broke
~an aalimah advised me to wear a tampon but i am pregnant and the doctor has advised against this.
1.am i a mazoor?
2.If i am a mazoor do i have to clean the discharge before every salaah?
3.if i am not a mazoor what can i do to make things a bit easier as i am goin for umrah soon so for eg tawaaf etc?
Answer
If the discharge lasts and does not stop within the time taken to make Wudhu and a 4 Rakaat Salaat and this continues for the duration of 1 Salaat time then you are 'Mazoor' then clean, make Wudhu for every Salaat duration all Ibadaat therein is valid e.g. Tawaaf etc.

Question
Assalamoalaikum Mufti Sahib
I have a very embarassing question to ask. Sometime back in 2010, while sitting on my office chair, i had a loose motion (which was complete water) which i was not able to control (my stomach was upset and i was on medication). I went to the washroom and saw that my underwear and shalwar were soiled. There also seemed wetness/moistness on my kameez so I washed all the three garments. And then returned to observe the office chair. There seemed no wetness/moistness on the seat. Maybe the seat fabric had absorbed the wetness or maybe it was not wet at all (i had returned from washroom after some time so there is the possibility that the wetness may have dried up). Moreover no stain was visible (the seat cover color is black so maybe it was stain was not clearly visible). I did not sit on the chair then and let my clothes dry while sitting on another chair. From the next day for one week or so i sat on my original chair by putting some newspaper or plastic bag in between. However after some time i stopped putting newspaper or plastic bags in between and started sitting directly on the seat. In the light of this i need to ask the following questions:
1. Will the seat of the office chair treated as napaak?
2. If yes, then how to purify it?
3. If napaak, then while sitting does it make my clothes napak as well (due to sweat transferring the nijasat to my clothes)?
4. Sometimes after coming from washroom and doing istinja there is some wetness on my underwear/shalwar. I used to sit on the office chair in that condition. Did this action make my clothes napaak
5. Moreover if my clothes became soiled due to no.4, and I went to the mosque wearing the same clothes did this make the prayer mats there soiled as well? What about the other chairs/sofas etc on which I sat with these clothes on?
6. Plus what about my car’s driving seat? I used to sit on it with these clothes.
Only recently i again started having thoughts about this and then started putting a cushion on the chair seat. Now i am constantly having thoughts that i must have soiled the car's driving seat, other chairs/sofas, my clothes and masjid prayer mats. Moreover all the people who will be sitting on those soiled chairs/sofas will also be having clothes soiled and further be soiling other things...Thus a never ending phenomenon.
I have been having a headache all the time and not been able to pray or worship properly or behave properly with my family for the last few days.
Kindly suggest a remedy. Jazakallah.

Question
When I went toilet, urine or water may have landed on my slippers. I am unsure. I washed my hands after istinja, took a tissue, wet it and wiped the affected area of the slipper. Since the dustbin in the toilet was full, I exited the bathroom with the wet tissue in my hand that I had used to wipe the slipper so that I could throw it in the bedroom bin. My hand was wet, having washed it after istinja and having used the tissue. Since it was dark and things happened so quickly, I do not know whether any drops fell from my hand on to the carpet in the bedroom where we walk with wet feet after wudhu/ghusl. If they did, it would have been 2 or 3 drops at most. No water would have fallen from the tissue.
In such a scenario, is the bedrroom carpet paak to walk on with wet feet after wudhu/ghusl?
Answer
You have become a chronic doubtful person. Satan is spinning you around. Wash that which you think is na-paak. Be careful you are making life very difficult for yourself.

Question
Assalamu Alaykum,
Please ignore question 7321 submitted earlier today. The correct question is below:
I had a wet dream this morning. I went in the bath. I felt as though napaaki touched my foot as I removed my trousers. I therefore did not wear my slippers after removing my trousers. I thought, I will use the toilet, perform istinja and go straight in the bath. However, after my feet touched the toilet/bathroom floor, I had a strong sensation in me, which suggested that after having put my feet on the potentially napaak floor, I may have worn my slippers by mistake. I therefore washed my slippers thoroughly and put them on one side ready to wear.
When I finished showering, I was reluctant to put the slippers on the floor because I thought they are still so wet. If I put them on the floor and wear them, water may soak through from the bottom to my feet and I don't know whether the water from the floor is paak. Eventually I decided if I place the slippers in an area where there is least likely to be napaaki, that would be the best. This caused me to put the slippers at a distance from the bath, which means I had to reach for it. This caused me to touch the tiled wall in order to gain balance.
The tiled wall is potentially napaak because a week earlier my wife wiped it with the same cloth that she had used to wipe the bath tub. She wiped an area of the bath tub where I had placed a napaak shaver. The shaver was napaak because, at the time of removing pubic hair, urine drops inadvertently came out as did some pre-ejaculatory fluid. I forgot to wash this area of the bath tub and hence my wife wiped it with a cloth and then wiped the tiled wall.
As I reached for the slippers mhalf of my right foot landed in the slipper, the other half was outside but did not touch the floor. As a precautionary measure, I washed my right foot and re-wore my slipper. At the same time, in a panic, I may have touched the painted bathroom door and a painted wall with wet hands. It is probable the door was painted using a brush made from pig bristles.
Having touched the tiled wall and possibly the bathroom door with wet hands, I then exited the bathroom. As my hands were wet, water inevitably dripped from my hands on to the bedroom carpet. Is the carpet to be regarded as paak to walk on with wet feet after wudhu/ghusl and to perform Salah on? If not, please advise precisely how to make the carpet paak?
NB: I cannot rest until I know the answer. Please therefore respond as a matter of urgency
Jazakallah

Question
Assalamu Alaykum,
You have been kind enough to answer the following questions already: 6907, 7100, 7101, 7105. However, I have another question (similar theme):
Approximately a week back I was removing pubic hair in the bath using a shaver. Inadvertantly, a number of remaining urine drops, which I thought I had removed during istinja came out, along with the thin fluid that is released prior to ejaculation. These drops came in contact with the shaver, which I left on the side of the bath. After showering I threw the shaver in the bin, but forgot to clean the area where the shaver had been placed.
Subsequently my wife used a cloth to dry the bath, including the area where the shaver was. She also used the same cloth to wipe the bathroom tiles on the wall.
Today, when I exited the bath, I placed my wet hands on the tiled wall and then entered the carpeted bedroom where we pray Salah. Obviously if urine was transferred to the tiled wall at the time of wiping, it would not be obvious. When I exited the bathroom, drops of water landed from my hand on the carpet in the bedroom
Is the carpet to be regarded as paak to walk on after wudhu and ghusl and to perform Salah on? If not, how do I purify the carpet?

Question
Assalamu Alaykum,
Until a few days ago, I was performing my istinja in the shower after having briefly wiped with a tissue. Today too, I fell in to the same trap, as at the last minute, I needed the toilet (to pass stool and urine) and I was getting late for Jum'ah. I wiped with a tissue. At the the time of washing myself in the shower, I saw the colour of the water change to brown (from the remaining faeces) as I washed my private parts. Similarly, the odd drop of urine was still coming out. I am not proud of this, nor do I consider it to be anything virtuous.
Directly under the shower head is a plastic shampoo bottle. Whilst washing my private parts, water inevitably went on to the bottle. I say, inevitable, because I do not go around monitoring the issue. It is also likely that during the rest of the ghusl process water lands on the bottle. Again, I can't be sure. Furthermore, when I turn the shower off, the head is positioned such that some of the remaining water in the head must to drip on to the bottle.
My wife usually uses the shower after me and handles the bottle in order to use the shampoo, as she did today. She must obviously wash the shampoo off. How effectively or to what extent she does that, I don't know.
This may sound far-fetched, but, after exiting the bathroom, does the water that drips from her hand, face, hair, feet etc on to the carpet render it impure for the purposes of Salah or to walk on with wet feet after performing wudhu or is it paak?
