Slms mufti Allhumdulillah Allah SWT called us to the holy land to perform our hajj in 2010, how do one know if they hajj was accepted because I was told to have fear and hope if it is and when ever I meet my hajji sisters I tell them to make dua that Allah SWT accepts our hajj and they tell me that they hajj is definetly accepted with so much of surety and this makes me feel scared and confused of mine, I was not a practicing muslim and Allhumdulillah after haj I have been performing my salaah but faulter and try again, I changed my dressing from western to islamic, left my job and Allhumdulillah Allah SWT has blessed me with rozi from home, I make zikr read talim and quran, almost everyday,I gave up TV and magazine but still am very weak and fail and try again, is it because my hajji sisters are doing everything correctly that makes them sure or am I correct of always having that fear and hope jzk for all the good work and effort in striving to englighten the muslim ummah

Signs of an accepted Hajj are, loss of love for this world, focus on the Aakhiraat, regularity in Salaat, abstaining from major sins, increase in Quraan Tilawaat and Zikr dealing and dressing as per the Shariat.

As-salaam-u-alaikum. we are insha allah going for umrah in two weks time and have these few questions.
Tawaaf
does one have to make istilam every tine ie the 8th time after the 2 rakaats of tawaaf.
Safa Saee. does one have to complete the 7 rounds continuosly or can one rest if a person is tired.2] do you have to have wuzu when doing safa saee 3] i have a weak bladder and if i have to go to toilet does the round break and do i have to start all over again.
Answer
1) Istilaam every round equal to 8 in a Tawaaf and the 9th before going for Saee.
2) One can rest whilst making Saee and also Tawaaf
3) Wudhu is not pre-condition for Saee but for Tawaaf.

As Salaamu Alaikum Wa Raamatullahi Wabarakaatu Mufti Saab
My wife and I will be going for umrah next week Insha Allah pending approval of Visa's. We are flying from Durban to Dubai, Dubai to Jeddah. We will be spending the first week in Makkah and thereafter proceed to Madinah. I am aware that the Ihraam has to be adorned and one has to be in the state of Ihraam before one crosses any of the miqaat points. I would like to know when will it be appropriate for me to adorn my Ihraam: 1. on arrival at Dubai airport, 2. in the airplane or 3. on arrival at Jeddah airport?
With regards to trimming of the hair of the spouse, how should this be done? Should the hair be trimmed equally?
I request Mufti Saab to advise us on these two questions and your urgent response is humbly appreciated.

My mother went for hajj in 1975 with her parents. They did not wear there ahraam before the Miqaat area but only once they reached Jedda.
After wearing there ahraam in Jeddah they proceeded to to Mecca to perform there Umrah. My questions are?
1) Is there a penalty for not wearing ahraam before the Miqaat area?
2) What is the penalty, if there is?
3) Can I discharge the penalty for all of them. My mother is alive, while my grandparents are late?
4) How do I discharge it?

I have researched various sights and they all come to the conclusion that a womens hair (on her head) should never be cut unless when on Hajj. 1.do you agree with this? (I understand that they come to this conclusion due to the fact that most ladies cut their hair to imitate a hair-style designed by Kufaar.) From what I understand a muslim ladies hair must cover her chest so 2. Would it be permissible to trim off split ends to maintain healthy hair (and not to imitate any particular hair style)?

1) Should one use the Govt. coupon system fro Damm-e-Shukr sacrifice?
2) What should one do when one is informed or sees for himseld that a tape-recorder is playing the words of sacrifice in the Govt abbotoirs when animals are being slaughtered - and the person has purchased a coupan also?

1) It is permissible of one exactly knows time of sacrifice
2) This is totally un-acceptable. Kindly contact authorities to clarify. If tape recorder is been used, do not use the system.

It has been noticed that certain persons do assist Hajees in purchasing their animals -
The following procedure is adopted:-
- Each person makes his lift on 7 names and hands it to the person concerned with the money;
- The balance of 7 parts is made up by the purchaser i someone elses name if the list is incomplete by the purchaser;
- The purchased animals are all together shown to the Hajji a few days prior to slaughtering, but no animal is FIXED, that this is 'your' animal, however the purchaser does say put your hand on one of the animals. The Question is:-
Is the sacrificing of these animals permissible and acceptable in this manner?
