Question
Assalamu alaikum
can you please help with the following scenario:
A woman is due for her period but is late. then she sees a slight brown discharge, takes it for her peiod, and stops reading salaah. This very little brown discharge (not enough to call it a flow) continues. She skips all her salaah for the next ten days at which point she knoiws she has to continue reading even though it hasnt stopped.
The slight brown discharge doesnt stop for the next 5 days, and then on the 5th day she starts bleeding. at this point this seems like her real period, since she feels the period symptoms.
But now, she already took the previous 10 days as her period and is now confused on what to do...
in this case, what should she do?
and if you say that she should just make wudhu and continue reading her salaah, then does that mean she can continue having marital relations (becasue what if it is her real period and this is then harmful to her)
jazakallah for your assistance.
Answer
When she experiences 'real' discharge with symptoms that is the periods and the rest before and after 10 days to be regarded as 'Istihaaza'

Question
Assalamu Alaykoum,
During ramadan a woman has been bleeding on and off for 1 week, mostly staying clean during the day and bleeding slightly/or having brown discharge at night. Does this week count as haiz? Since she is uncertain of whether she will bleed again, must she have ghusl each time she think she's clean and fast and perform salaat and read Quran? Or should she wait for 10 days before fasting and touching Quran etc?
Answer
She should follow her normal Habit.

Question
Assalamu Alaykoum,
Jazak Allah for your prompt answer to question #6890.. After delivery the lady bled from 5th june to 28th june, then again on 9th July to 15th July and 18 July to 21st July.
1. On 28th june, she had ghusl, performed salaat and tilawat Quran till 9th July.. What is the ruling for the ibadah done during this period since she wasn't aware she was still in Nifaas? And she cannot remember exactly which part of the Quran was read during that time.
2. Since Nifaas lasted 40 days and she continued to bleed even after that, does she has to take into consideration the number of previous nifaas (38 days) and make Qadha for salaat? For how many days of salaat does this apply?
May Allah reward you!
Answer
1) Make Taubah and Istikhfaar. Start Quraan again
2) 40 Days.

Question
Since I became baaligh till I felt pregnant for my third baby, my haiz would last for a period of 6 days. After the birth of my third baby, nifaas and a period of 7 months ,my haiz started to become unstable. It would at times last for 7 days , 9 days over 10 days, etc. Each month different. After 3 years , I decided to see a doctor who diagnosed an outgrowth on one of my ovaries explaining this irregularity. Got the necessary medications and alhumdulillah It was removed. My haiz is slowly stabilising. I would like to know the number of days to be considered as haiz each month?
Answer
Since it is stabilising then within few months you will know the regular figure, for now use the 7 days as your regular.

Question
Assalaamu alaikum May Allah Ta'ala grant Mufti Saheb long life and good health to continue your sterling efforts for His Deen, Ameen.
A woman has a haidh aada of 10 days with tuhr aada of approx. 19 days. However she began bleeding full flow after 14 tuhr days. Will haidh be considered from her normal time in the month ( after her previous tuhr aada) or from immediately after the 15th day. If she counted haidh from her normal qadr aada( after 19 tuhr days) and this time now began bleeding after 14 tuhr days, when will this new bleeding be considered as haidh?
A woman has haidh aada of 8 days. However she began bleeding in the fol 3 haidh cycles for more than 10 days. What will her haidh aada be for each cycle?
I am confused about the answer given for mas'ala 57 in the book 'Flowers for Women', probably due to the diifficiency of my understanding. According to my understanding the bleeding on the 14th day of tuhr would be considered as a continuous flow with the previous haidh hence it would be istihaza. During her normal time there was no bleeding, thus the new haidh will only be considered from that 11th day that she bled. However it will only be considered haidh if bleeding resumes within 15 days and lasts more then 3 days, or else that one day's bleeding too will be istihaza and no haidh will be considered at all. Please clarify for me if i am wrong. Jazakallah. May all your jaiz maqasid be fulfilled with kair.
Answer
Regard 1st day ass Istihaaza and remainder as haiz as explained in your last paragraph.
8 days.
The answer in the book is correct.

Question
Asalaam
I cut my hair recently after being advised that I can infact cut it as long as it still looks feminine and at least reaches the shoulders.
for most of my life I had very long hair which is heavy for my head and gives me headaches. also, when washed during winter always without fail leaves me with a cold the next day whether i blow dry it or not.As a result i cannot keep washing my hair and if I Have to wash my hair due to ghusl I know i will be sick later.
I wear head covering and no one sees my hair.
and my husband has been asking me so long to cut my hair which i kept telling him no for.
So finally i was advised that it was okay for me to cut the hair.
So i did but left it by my shoulders due to being advised that it should not be shorter than that and that i must still look female.
My husband now loves that length and washing and everything is easier and my head no longer pains.
Can you advise me if I was wrong. I know they say that a woman should not look like a man, but i do look very feminine and cannot be mistaken for a man with this haircut.
and this is not ever a style that would be allowed on a man. he would be considered to be imitating a female if he had such a hairdo.
If i was wrong then i shall grow it to the length that is acceptable if you can advise which length that is as it is a torture for the hair to keep growing on forever without ever cutting it.
Please advise.
Answer
You have one wrong. Repent by letting it regrow without cutting in future.
