Question
As-salaamu 'alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh
Respected Mufti Sahib,
My community and I have greatly benefited from your translated works such as, Qur'an Made Easy, Hayatus Sahabah, Islam is the only way and many more alhamdulillah. I recently purchased two books during my time in Tabligh, they are: Lisanud-Da'wah wat-Tabligh (a compilation of bayans by Maulana Umar Palanpuri Rahmatullahi 'alaih in Arabic) and Majmu'ul Bayanat (Bayans by Maulana Yusuf Kandhlawi Rahmatullahi 'alaih in Urdu). I made mashurah with quite a few South Arfican Ulama in Jama'ah and they suggested that I request from you to translate these two books into English because you have expertise in the field on translation, Masha'Allah. Is it possible to translate these books into English, Mufti Sahib?
I'm also interested in a list of all the books/booklets that you have published, and where they are sold because my Masjid and community will benefit, insha'Allah.
Jazakumullahu khairan,

Question
Asalaamualykom.
I loaned a distant relative money at the begining of this year, which he promised to pay within six weeks of the loan being granted.
He has yet to settle the loan approximately forty weeks later!
It now transpires that he manufactured a lie in order to obtain the loan and has continued to lie regarding the repayment, making repeated promises which he has been unable to keep.
Upon further enquiry it would appear that this person is bankrupt, and has been conning several other people in order to borrow money, and is consequently heavily indebted.
Is it permissable to write off his loan as Zakaat?
Do I have to inform him of this?
Is it allowed to warn other people about his deceitful behaviour?
Jazakallah and may Allah(swt) guide and protect you, and save us all from debt.
Answer
1.) Cannot write it off as Zakaat.
2.) You can give Zakaat to a third party to help this person out.
3.) You can inform others of this persons wretched behaviour.

Question
Slms Mufti
I chatted to an aalimah yesterday who informed me that her objection to the "tabligh" activity of going for jamaat for periods of time longer than 4 months was that there is divorce in the instance that a husband has not been with his wife for a period of more than 4 months. Is there an automatic divorce ?
Please provide an indication of what timeframes are acceptable for men going on jamaat and what is the authority for this activity in islam as some men make a habit of going away for at least 4 - 6 months every year?
Answer
No, the 'Aalimah' purhaps was not focussed.
To go out in the path of Allaah is very good. Depending on for how long both can stay away they can decide.

Question
Hi
I wish to ask a question, i am very interested in becoming a muslim so i read a lot of literature on the basics and the history of the prophet Muhammad a Muslim friend recommended this site for a question. I wish no disrespect towards the prophet and i admire his teachings and way of life, the only question i have is that the prophet never advocated pride or speaking high of oneself according to his teachings and also since he was the prophet his character was perfect and noble but coming across traditions or the Hadith i read the following:
"The Prophet (S.A.W) was the greatest of the Arabs in oratory and beauty of speech. He said: 'I am the greatest orator among the Arabs'."116
116. Imam Ghazzali's Ihya Ulum-Id-Din (The Book of Religious Learning's, Volume II, p.240 ( Harun Yahya)
Also the other traditions pertaining to his status which i have come upon and read in which we are told that the holy prophet spoke about his status with regard to other prophets and in general( Forgive me for not referencing here as to my lack of knowledge)
I would just like clarification and an explanation about how this which I'm sure was meant in a more honorable way or rather as enlightening his fellow people of his blessing from God,how does this differ from other pride or thinking highly. I'm sure this is a misunderstanding or lack of knowledge on my part so I'm hoping the experts could enlighten me in a more truthful and scholarly way.
Kind Regards
God bless
