|(1) Islaamic History||The martyrdom of Hadhrat Anas bin Nadhar (RA)|
|Hadhrat Anas bin Nadhar (RA) from amongst the Ansaar was the paternal uncle of Hadhrat Anas bin Maalik (RA). Rasulullaah (SAW) said about him, “If Anas bin Nadhar takes an oath, Allaah will ensure that He fulfils it.” He was blessed with tremendous courage and was very pained that he was unable to participate in the Battle of Badr. He therefore resolved to do his very best if there ever was another battle. The Battle of Uhud then took place and he fought with great valour. Although the Muslims were winning the battle, the Mushrikeen suddenly got the upper hand when some of the Sahabah (RA) abandoned their posts at a mountain pass. When the Mushrikeen started to attack from the rear, the Muslims were caught in a deadly crossfire and started to disperse in confusion. Seeing Hadhrat Sa’d bin Mu’aadh (RA), Hadhrat Anas bin Nadhar (RA) said, “Where are you going to, O Sa’d? I swear by Allaah that I can smell the fragrance of Jannah coming from Mount Uhud!” Saying this, he penetrated the ranks of the Mushrikeen army and fought until he was martyred. Over eighty sword and arrow wounds were counted on his body afterwards.|
|(2) Rasulullaah (SAW)’s Miracle||Shattering a boulder|
|When the trench was being dug for the Battle of the Trench, the Sahabah (RA) encountered a massive boulder, which they could not break. After Rasulullaah (SAW) sprinkled some water over it, the Sahabah (RA) present there said, “We swear by the Being Who has sent you as a Rasul that the boulder has actually become soft.” Rasulullaah (SAW) then struck it thrice, causing it to be reduced to a pile of dust.
[Ahmad 13799, from Hadhrat Jaabir (RA)]
|(3) A Fardh||The Wuqoof at Arafaat|
|Rasulullaah (SAW) said, “Hajj is Arafaat.”
[Nasa’ee 3019, from Hadhrat Abdur Rahmaan bin Ya’mur (RA)]
It is Fardh (obligatory) for all people performing Hajj to be at Arafaat on the 9th of Dhul Hijjah (referred to as the Wuqoof at Arafaat).
|(4) A Sunnah||The Du’aa while performing Tawaaf|
|Hadhrat Abdullaah bin Saa’ib (RA) reports that he heard Rasulullaah (SAW) recite the following Du’aa as he walked between the two Rukns:
رَبَّنَآ اٰتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَّفِي الْاٰخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَّقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّار
TRANSLATION: O Allaah, grant us the good in this world and the good in the Hereafter and save us from the torment of Hell-Fire.
[Abu Dawood 1892]
|(5) An Important Act and its Virtue||The virtue of Surah Ikhlaas|
|Rasulullaah (SAW) said that the person who recites Surah Ikhlaas after every Fardh Salaah, there will be nothing separating him from Jannah except death.
[Jam’ul Fawaa’id 9324, from Hadhrat Abu Umaamah (RA)]
|(6) A Sin||Evil scheming|
|Allaah says in the Qur’aan, “There shall be a severe punishment for those who devise evil schemes (to harm Islaam and the Muslims). The plots of these people will certainly be destroyed (will fail miserably)”.
[Surah Faatir, verse 10]
|(7) This World||This worldly life of deceiving|
|Allaah says in the Qur’aan, “They (the Kuffaar) have superficial (shallow) knowledge of (matters related to) the life of this world whereas they are negligent of (matters related to) the Aakhirah (as a result, they will be unsuccessful in the Aakhirah)”.
[Surah Room, verse 7]
Deceived by the glamour of this world, people forget that there is the Aakhirah to come where they are to abide forever. They therefore fail to prepare for it.
|(8) The Aakhirah||The walls of Jahannam|
|Rasulullaah (SAW) said that four walls surround Jahannam, each one as thick as a journey of forty years.
[Tirmidhi 2584, from Hadhrat Abu Sa’eed Khudri (RA)]
|(9) Cures from the Qur’aan and Rasulullaah (SAW)||Treatment with Surah Baqarah|
|Rasulullaah (SAW) said, “Recite Surah Baqarah in your homes because the Shayaateen and black magic cannot enter the home in which Surah Baqarah is recited.”
[Mustadrak of Haakim 2062, from Hadhrat Abdullaah bin Mas’ood (RA)]
|(10) Advice from
|Rasulullaah (SAW) said, “If a person desires that Allaah blesses him in his lifespan and his sustenance and that Allaah saves him from a bad death, then he should fear Allaah and mend family relations.”
[Mustadrak of Haakim 7280]
