(1) Islaamic History Arafaat
The plain of Arafaat is located approximately 17km east of Makkah on the road to Taa’if. After leaving Jannah, it was here that Hadhrat Aadam (AS) first met up with his wife Hadhrat Hawwa (RA) and recognised her. It is for this reason that the place is called Arafaat. It was here that Hadhrat Jibra’eel (AS) taught Hadhrat Ibraheem (AS) the rites of Hajj and it was here that the Sahabah (RA) were given the good news that the Deen had been perfected. It was also here that Rasulullaah (SAW) mounted his camel and delivered the historical sermon during the Farewell Hajj, in which he put an end to all customs of the Period of Ignorance and emphasised human rights. It will also be here that people will be resurrected on the Day of Qiyaamah and required to account for their actions. It is here on the 9th of Dhul Hijjah every year that the Haajis gather to fulfil the fundamental requisite of the Hajj. This is referred to as the Wuqoof of Arafaat, which starts from Zawaal and lasts until sunset and is Fardh (obligatory).
(2) Allaah’s Power Allaah’s mercy and benevolence upon His creation
Allaah is extremely merciful and generous towards His creation and protects them in every way, whether they are on land or at sea. It is through His power that when the severe winter sets in and the danger exists of the waters freezing in some areas, Allaah protects the lives of the creatures in the sea by allowing a layer of ice to float above the water so that the water below does not freeze. As a result, the creatures underwater can live normally. This is the power Allaah has to ensure that He protects His creation wherever they may be.
(3) A Fardh Performing the Sa’ee after the Tawaaf
Hadhrat Abdullaah bin Umar (RA) reports that after completing seven circuits around the Kabah, Rasulullaah (SAW) used to perform two Rakaahs Salaah behind the Maqaam Ibraaheem and then perform the Sa’ee between Safa and Marwa. Hadhrat Abdullaah bin Umar (RA) then said, “There is a perfect example for you in Rasulullaah (SAW).”

[Nasa’ee 2963]

It is compulsory to perform the Sa’ee after the Tawaaf of Hajj and Umrah.

(4) A Sunnah The Du’aa after boarding a conveyance
When boarding a conveyance for travelling, Rasulullaah (SAW) used to recite the Takbeer thrice and then the following Du’aa:

سُبْحَانَ الَّذِيْ سَخَّرَلَنَا هٰذَا وَمَا كُنَّا لَهٗ مُقْرِنِينَ وَ إِنَّآ إِلٰى رَبِّنَا لَمُنْقَلِبُوْنَ

TRANSLATION: Glory be to Allaah who has put this (vehicle) under our control though we were unable to control it. Surely, to our Sustainer we are to return.

[Tirmidhi 3447, from Hadhrat Abdullaah bin Umar (RA)]

(5) An Important Act and its Virtue Reciting a thousand verses of the Qur’aan in the path of Allaah
Rasulullaah (SAW) said, “Whoever recites a thousand verses of the Qur’aan in the path of Allaah, Allaah will record his name amongst the Ambiyaa i, the Siddiqeen, the martyrs and the righteous ones.”

[Mustadrak of Haakim 2443, from Hadhrat Mu’aadh Juhani (RA)]

(6) A Sin The hidden Shirk
Rasulullaah (SAW) once asked the Sahabah (RA), “Should I not inform you of something more dangerous than Dajjaal?” When the Sahabah (RA) begged to be informed, Rasulullaah (SAW) said, “It is the hidden Shirk, which is when a person stands up for Salaah and then prolongs the Salaah because another person is watching him.”

[Ibn Maajah 4204, from Hadhrat Abu Sa’eed Khudri (RA)]

(7) This World Two evils
Rasulullaah (SAW) said, “Two things grow younger in the heart of an old person; love for this world and long hopes.”

[Bukhaari 6420, from Hadhrat Abu Hurayrah (RA)]

(8) The Aakhirah The fruit and shade of Jannah
Allaah says in the Qur’aan, “The description of the Jannah that is promised for the pious (is that it will contain) rivers flowing beneath it while its fruits and shade will be permanent. This is the outcome (the position in the Aakhirah) of those who adopt Taqwa, while the outcome of the Kuffaar shall be the Fire”.

[Surah Ra’d, verse 35]

(9) Cures from the Qur’aan and Rasulullaah (SAW) Treating poison with the Ajwa date
Rasulullaah (SAW) said that the Ajwa date is from amongst the fruits of Jannah and contains the cure for poison.

[Tirmidhi 2068, from Hadhrat Abu Hurayrah (RA)]

(10) Qur’aanic Advice
Allaah says in the Qur’aan, “Verily Allaah instructs (people to carry out) justice, Ihsaan (do things well, as well as doing everything with the consciousness that Allaah is watching), and giving (charity) to relatives. And Allaah forbids immoral behaviour, evil and oppression. He advises you so that you may take heed (and thereby save yourselves from ruin and Jahannam)”.

[Surah Nahl, verse 90]
