|(1) Islaamic History||Construction of the Masjidun Nabawi|
|The first thing that Rasulullaah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) did after moving to Madinah was to build a Masjid, which was to be known as Masjidun Nabawi. There was a vacant piece of land adjacent to where Rasulullaah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) stayed, which he chose to be the site of the Masjid. It belonged to two orphans, who were willing to give the land for free, but Rasulullaah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) insisted on paying them the price. Rasulullaah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) and the Sahabah (RA) then built the Masjid themselves and as they happily carried the rocks, they said the following couplets, which meant, “O Allaah! Indeed the only true rewards are those of the Aakhirah, so do shower mercy upon the Ansaar and the Muhaajireen.” The Masjid represented a true picture of the simplicity of Islaam with its clay walls, palm trunks as pillars and roof made of palm fronds. However, it had the noble personality of Rasulullaah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) as its Imaam and the illustrious Sahabah (RA) as its worshippers.|
|(2) Allaah’s Power||The wild fig|
|Amongst the multitudes of fruit that Allaah has created, the wild fig is such that when it is cut after ripening, many little worms emerge from it, which then fly away with the wings they develop. Where have these little creatures come from when there is no entry point on the fruit? It is only by the power of Allaah that they have been created within the fruit itself.|
|(3) A Fardh||Screening oneself from one’s brothers-in-law|
|Rasulullaah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) said, “Guard yourselves against mixing with women (who are not Mahram).” “What about the brother-in-law (husband’s brother)?” an Ansaari Sahabi (RA) asked. “The brother-in-law is death,” Rasulullaah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) replied.
[Bukhaari 5232, from Hadhrat Uqba bin Aamir (RA)]
This Hadith makes it evident that it is necessary for a woman to conceal herself from her husband’s brother because failure to do so spells destruction.
|(4) A Sunnah||Two Rakaahs Salaah after Isha|
|Hadhrat Abdullaah bin Umar (RA) reports that he performed two Rakaahs (Sunnah) Salaah with Rasulullaah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) after the Isha Salaah.
It is Sunnah Mu’akkadah to perform two Rakaahs Salaah after the Fardh of Isha, but before the Witr.
|(5) An Important Act and its Virtue||Being Just|
|Rasulullaah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) said, “Being just for a moment is superior to standing in Salaah all night and fasting all day for sixty years. O Abu Hurayrah! A moment of injustice is worse than sixty years of disobedience to Allaah.”
[Targheeb wat Tarheeb 3128, from Hadhrat Abu Hurayrah (RA)]
|(6) A Sin||Using silver utensils|
|Rasulullaah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) said that when a person eats or drinks from a silver utensil, he is really filling his belly with the fire of Jahannam.
[Muslim 5634, from Hadhrat Ummu Salamah (RA)
|(7) This World||Two evils|
|Rasulullaah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) said, “Two things grow younger in the heart of an old person; love for this world and long hopes.”
[Bukhaari 6420, from Hadhrat Abu Hurayrah (RA)]
|(8) The Aakhirah||The food of the people of Jahannam|
|Allaah says in the Qur’aan, “He shall enter the blazing fire where he will be given water to drink from boiling springs. The only food for them (the people of Jahannam) shall be thorny trees which will neither nourish (their bodies) nor satisfy (their extreme) hunger”.
[Surah Ghaashiya, verses 4-7]
|(9) Cures from the Qur’aan and Rasulullaah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam)||A cure for any illnesses|
|A person once came to Hadhrat Anas (RA) and complained of an illness he was suffering. “Should I not recite and blow a Du’aa upon you which Rasulullaah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) used to recite?” Hadhrat Anas (RA) asked. When the man agreed, Hadhrat Anas (RA) recited the following Du’aa:
اَللّٰهُمَّ رَبَّ النَّاسِ مُذهِبِ البَأْسِ اِشْفِ أَنْتَ الشَّافِي
لَا شَافِى إِلّا أَنْتَ شِفَاءٌ لَّا يُغَادِرُ سَقَمًا
“Allahumma Rabban-nasi, adhhibil-ba’sa, washfi, Antash-Shafi, la shifa’a illa shifa’uka, shifaan la yughadiru saqaman”
TRANSLATION: O Allah! the Rabb of mankind! Remove this disease and cure (him or her)! You are the Great Curer. There is no cure but through You, which leaves behind no disease.
|(10) Qur’aanic Advice|
|Allaah says in the Qur’aan, “Do not ascribe any partner to Him and be kind towards your parents. (Allaah has also commanded) That you do not kill (abort) your children for fear of poverty (fearing that you will become poor by providing for them). We provide for you and for them as well (even though you may be poor). And (Allaah commands) that you do not draw near to immoral acts that may be open and secret (such as secretly looking at or meeting with a member of the opposite sex or intermingling of sexes)”.
[Surah An’aam, verse 151]
