|(1) Islaamic History||Hadhrat Dhul Kifl (RA)|
|Hadhrat Dhul Kifl (RA) was also a Nabi from amongst the Bani Israa’eel. In mentioning his virtues, it is sufficient to state that his name is taken twice in the Qur’aan; in Surah Ambiyaa (AS) and in Surah Saad. He was the son of Hadhrat Ayyoob (RA) and, like his father, he very patient, grateful and pious. Hadhrat Dhul Kifl (RA) had been an ordinary man, but when Hadhrat Yasa (RA) grew old and needed to appoint a successor, he stipulated that the successor should be someone who fulfilled three conditions. The conditions were that (1) the man fasts during the day, (2) he worships Allaah all night, and (3) he never loses his temper. Since all these qualities were found in Hadhrat Dhul Kifl (RA), he was appointed as successor. Although Shaytaan tried his utmost to sway Hadhrat Dhul Kifl (RA) from these traits, he did not succeed.|
|(2) Rasulullaah (SAW)’s Miracle||Foretelling the reign of the righteous Khilaafah|
|Rasulullaah (SAW) said, “There shall reign after me the Khilafaa Raashidah (righteous Khilaafah) for thirty years, after which monarchy will reign.” [Tirmidhi]
According to this prophesy, the reign of the Khulafaa Raashideen lasted until the reign of Hadhrat Ali (RA) – thirty years.
|(3) A Fardh||Joining family ties|
|Allaah says in the Qur’aan, “(The evil-doers are) Those who break the promise (pact) they made to Allaah after agreeing to it, who cut off those things that Allaah has ordered that they join (such as family ties), and who spread corruption (mischief) on earth. These are certainly the losers (because they are headed for Jahannam)”. [Surah Baqara, verse 27]
It is imperative that Muslims join ties with their families and ensure that these ties are never severed.
|(4) A Du’aa from the Qur’aan and Rasulullaah (SAW)||Du’aa is the essence of Ibaadah|

|(5) A Nafl||Sustenance and age are increased through serving one’s parents|
|Rasulullaah (SAW) said, “The person who desires that Allaah increases his age and his sustenance should treat his parents well.”
|(6) A Sin||Performing Salaah for show is belittling Allaah|
|Rasulullaah (SAW) said that a person will be guilty of actually belittling Allaah when he performs Salaah properly when in front of people and then performs it badly when alone.
[Targheeb wat Tarheeb]
|(7) This World||The consequences of corruption and rebellion|
|Allaah says in the Qur’aan, “O people! Your corruption (Shirk, sin and oppression) is to your own detriment (because you will suffer the consequences in this world and especially in the Aakhirah). You enjoy the pleasures of this world (for a short while), then (when you die) you shall return to Us and We will inform you of what you used to do (and punish you for your sins)”.
[Surah Yunus, verse 23]
|(8) The Aakhirah||The lightest punishment to be suffered by the people of Jahannam|
|Rasulullaah (SAW) said that the lightest punishment to be suffered by the people of Jahannam will be a person who will be made to wear shoes of fire, which will cause his brains to boil like a pot. He will be suffering the lightest punishment, but will think that his punishment is the worst.
|(9) Cures from the Qur’aan and Rasulullaah (SAW)||Curing fever|
|Hadhrat Abdullaah bin Abbaas (RA) reports that Rasulullaah (SAW)taught the Sahabah (RA) to recite the following Du’aa when suffering from fever:
بِسْمِ اللهِ الْكَبِيْرِأَعُوْذُ بِالله ِالْعَظِيْمِ مِنْ شَرِّ كُلِّ عَرْقٍ نَّعَّارٍ وَمِنْ شَرِّحَرِّ النَّارِ
Bismillahil kabeeri aaoo’zubillahil azeemi min sharri kulli Ir’qinna’Aarin wa min sharri harrin naar
TRANSLATION: I begin in the name of Allaah The Great. I seek the protection of the Glorious Allaah from the evil of every boiling vein and from the evil of the heat of the fire.
