(1) Islaamic History The upbringing and family of Rasulullaah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam)
Rasulullaah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) was born of Arab descent and from the Banu Haashim family of the Quraysh tribe. Rasulullaah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) said that Allaah had distinguished the Kinaanah tribe from amongst the progeny of Hadhrat Ismaa’eel (AS) and from them Allaah had accorded honour to the Quraysh. Allaah then gave distinction to the Banu Haashim family from amongst the Quraysh and then selected Rasulullaah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) from them.

[Muslim 5938]

Rasulullaah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam)’s mother Aamina belonged to a distinguished family of the Banu Zuhrah tribe. After she had delivered Rasulullaah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam), he was suckled by Thuwaybah. It was the custom amongst the Arabs of the time to have their children reared in the rural areas, where they would benefit from the clean and fresh air and also acquire the eloquent Arab tongue. Rasulullaah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) was therefore handed over to a respectable lady of the Banu Sa’d clan named Haleema (SAW). She reared Rasulullaah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) for approximately 4 to 5 years and would bring him twice a year to Makkah, where he would meet his mother Aamina and grandfather Abdul Muttalib.

(2) Allaah’s Power The thumb
Compared to the other fingers of the hand, Allaah has accorded greater strength to the thumb. It is with the aid of this thumb that we are able to hold our morsels of food and our pens. No other finger can take its place because without it, we would be unable to hold on to anything properly. It is truly a great bounty that we fail to appreciate.

(3) A Fardh The warning against missing Salaah
Rasulullaah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) said, “Missing Salaah attaches a person to kufr.”

[Muslim 246, from Hadhrat Jaabir (RA)]

Another Hadith states that Rasulullaah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) said, “The difference between Imaan and Kufr lies in missing Salaah.”

[Ibn Maajah 1078, from Hadhrat Jaabir (RA)]

(4) A Sunnah Eating from a cloth spread on the ground
Hadhrat Anas (RA) reports that Rasulullaah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) never ate from a table. When someone asked him what it was that Rasulullaah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) ate from, he replied that Rasulullaah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) ate from a cloth spread on the ground.

[Bukhaari 5415]

(5) An Important Act and its Virtue Reading the Qur’aan by looking inside
Rasulullaah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) said that when a person recites the Qur’aan while looking into it, Allaah will grant him use of his eyes until the day he dies.

[Fadhaa’il Qur’aan by Raazi Pg.18]

(6) A Sin Leaving the Masjid after the Adhaan is called out
Rasulullaah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) said that a person will be considered a Munaafiq (hypocrite) if he leaves the Masjid after the Adhaan has been called out without valid reason and without the intention of returning.

[Ibn Maajah 734, from Hadhrat Uthmaan (RA)]

This will be deemed an act of a Munaafiq because it does not behove a true Muslim to do so.

(7) This World Two greeds
Rasulullaah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) said, “There are two greeds that can never be satiated; greed for knowledge that can never be satiated and greed for this world, which can also never be satiated.”

[Mustadrak of Haakim 312, from Hadhrat Anas (RA)]

(8) The Aakhirah Standing before Allaah on the Day of Qiyaamah
Allaah says in the Qur’aan, “Do such people not consider that (after death) they will be raised unto an awful day (Qiyaamah); the day when all of mankind will stand before the Rabb of the universe”.

[Surah Mutaffifeen, verses 4-6]

(9) Cures from the Qur’aan and Rasulullaah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) A cure from all pains
Hadhrat Abdullaah bin Abbaas (RA) reports that Rasulullaah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) taught the Sahabah (RA) to recite the following Du’aa when suffering from fever and every type of pain:

بِسْمِ اللهِ الْكَبِيْرِ أَعُوْذُ بِاللهِ الْعَظِيْمِ مِنْ شَرِّ كُلِّ عَرْقٍ نَّعَّارٍ وَّمِنْ شَرِّ حَرِّ النَّارِ

TRANSLATION: I begin in the name of Allaah The Great. I seek the protection of the Glorious Allaah from the evil of every boiling vein and from the evil of the heat of the fire.

[Tirmidhi 2075]

(10) Qur’aanic Advice
Allaah says in the Qur’aan, “O people! Remember Allaah’s favour to you. Is there another creator besides Allaah who sustains you from the sky and the earth? There is no Illaah but Him. So to where are you retrogressing (turning away from Towheed)?

[Surah Faatir, verse 3]
