(1) Islaamic History The plan to assassinate Rasulullaah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam)
When the Quraysh learnt that Rasulullaah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) was also planning to migrate to Madinah, they became very concerned that when Islaam gains a firm foothold in Madinah, the Muslims would eventually march on Makkah. They therefore convened at the house of Qusay bin Kilaab which was known as Daarun Nadwa. The leader of every tribe was present there and they eventually agreed to assassinate Rasulullaah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam). The plan was for a representative of every tribe to strike at Rasulullaah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) with his sword so that the blame could not be pinned on any one person. They therefore surrounded the house of Rasulullaah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) that night, waiting in ambush for him to emerge for the Fajr Salaah. Allaah informed Rasulullaah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) of the scheme and Rasulullaah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) left Hadhrat Ali (RA) to sleep in his bed as he left that night for the Hijrah. As Rasulullaah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) left the house, he recited Surah Yaaseen and threw sand upon the men surrounding the house. Allaah cast a veil between Rasulullaah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) and the villains, causing them to see nothing as he left. It was only in the morning when they saw Hadhrat Ali (RA) emerge from the house that they realised that they had been fooled.
(2) Rasulullaah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam)’s Miracle A goat gives milk
Hadhrat Abdullaah bin Mas’ood (RA) reports, “I was grazing goats for Uqba bin Abu Mu’eet when Rasulullaah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) and Hadhrat Abu Bakr (RA) passed by me. ‘Dear boy!’ Rasulullaah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) said, ‘Have you any milk (for us to drink)?’ ‘Yes,’ I replied, ‘but I have only been placed in trust (I do not own the goats and have no permission to give the milk away).’ Rasulullaah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) asked, ‘Are there any she-goats that have not mated yet?’ I then brought such a goat and when Rasulullaah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) passed his hand over her teats, milk started to descend and he milked her. He then drank from the container of milk and gave Hadhrat Abu Bakr (RA) some to drink as well. Rasulullaah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) then addressed the teat saying, ‘Now contract’ and it contracted.

(3) A Fardh The Sajdah Sahw
Rasulullaah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) said, “When any of you errs in Salaah, he should perform Sajdah Sahw.”

[Muslim 1283]

Sajdah Sahw will be Waajib (compulsory) when a person forgetfully omits a Waajib act of Salaah or delays in carrying out a Fardh or Waajib act of Salaah.

(4) A Sunnah The Du’aa for rain
Rasulullaah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) recited the following Du’aa for rain:

اَللّٰهُمَّ أَغِثْنَا اَللّٰهُمَّ أَغِثْنَا اَللّٰهُمَّ أَغِثْنَا

TRANSLATION: O Allaah! Shower rains upon us. O Allaah! Shower rains upon us. O Allaah! Shower rains upon us.

[Bukhaari 1014, from Hadhrat Anas (RA)]

(5) An Important Act and its Virtue Performing Wudhu before proceeding to the Masjid
Rasulullaah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) said, “When a person performs Wudhu at home before coming to the Masjid, he will continuously receive the reward of the Salaah until he returns home.”

[Haakim 744, from Hadhrat Abu Hurayrah (RA)]

(6) A Sin The failure of the Kuffaar
Allaah says in the Qur’aan, “Indeed those who commit kufr, who forbid (others) from Allaah’s path (Islaam) and who oppose the Rasool (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) after guidance (Towheed and the truth of Islaam) has been made clear to them cannot harm Allaah at all (because the harm will affect only them). Allaah will soon cancel their (good) actions (by not rewarding them in the Aakhirah)”.

[Surah Muhammad (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam), verse 32]

(7) This World Miserliness
Allaah says in the Qur’aan, “Behold! You (Muslims) are the very ones who are summoned to spend in Allaah’s way but there are those among you who are miserly. Those who are miserly practise miserliness to their own detriment. Allaah is Independent and you are all needy (totally dependent on Him). If you turn away (from obeying Him), He (will not at all be affected because He) will substitute you with another nation who will not be like yourselves (but who will do exactly as He orders)”.

[Surah Muhammad (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam), verse 38]

(8) The Aakhirah What is the pond of Kowthar?
Rasulullaah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) said, “Kowthar is a river in Jannah, the two banks of which are made of gold and the bed of which is made of pearls and rubies. Its sand is more fragrant than musk, its water sweeter than honey and clearer than ice.”

[Tirmidhi 3361, from Hadhrat Abdullaah bin Umar (RA)]

(9) Cures from the Qur’aan and Rasulullaah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) Treating swelling
When Hadhrat Asmaa (RA) developed swelling on her face and head, she sent the message to Rasulullaah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) through her sister Hadhrat Aa’isha (RA). Rasulullaah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) then went there and, from over a cloth, he placed his hand upon the affected area and recited the following Du’aa thrice:

اَللّٰهُمَّ أَذْهِبْ عَنْهَا سُوءَهٗ وَفَحْشَهٗ بِدَعْوَةِ نَبِيِّكَ

الطَّيِّبِ الْمُبَارَكِ الْمَكِيْنِ عِنْدَ كَ بَسْمِ اللهِ

He then told her to recite the same Du’aa. After doing it for three days, the swelling disappeared.

[Bayhaqi 2430]

(10) Advice from Rasulullaah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam)
Rasulullaah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) said, “Never express joy over the misfortune of your brother because Allaah may relieve him of it and afflict you with the same.”

[Tirmidhi 2506, from Hadhrat Waathila (RA)]
