(1) Islaamic History The status of Imaam Abu Haneefah (RA) in the field of Ahadeeth
When he grew up, Imaam Abu Haneefah (RA) paid keen interest in acquiring the knowledge of Deen and studied under senior teachers and Imaams, eventually mastering the sciences he learned. The Fuqahaa and Muhadditheen attest to his proficiency in these fields and acknowledge that he was indeed a Haafidh of Ahadeeth. He did not only study under the famous Muhadditheen of Kufa, but also travelled to Makkah and Madinah to study Ahadeeth. His teachers numbered almost 400. Allaama Dhahabi F writes, “Imaam Abu Haneefah (RA) was an expert in the science of Ahadeeth and was regarded as one of the Huffaadh of Ahadeeth.” In fact, contribution to the science of Ahadeeth was tremendous in that he was the first to deliberate upon the conditions for narrating Ahadeeth and to specify the various ranks of the Ahadeeth. He was also well aware of the lives and credibility of the various narrators of Ahadeeth. It is for this reason that Hadhrat Imaam Abu Yusuf F would say that Imaam Abu Haneefah (RA) knew more authentic Ahadeeth than he did.
(2) Allaah’s Power The honey factory
By His supreme power, Allaah has created the little bee which collects nectar from flowers and then stores it in hives. Allaah has granted the bee the craftsmanship to construct the hive out of a series of hexagonal cavities, each exactly the same size as the other. It is in these cavities that the bee stores the honey. What a great system Allaah has created for the manufacturing of this nutritious drink for mankind.
(3) A Fardh Performing Tayammum in place of Ghusl
Allaah says in the Qur’aan, “If you are ill, on journey, returning from the toilet or from touching (engaging in sexual relations with) your wives, and you do not find any water (or you are unable to use water for Wudhu or for Ghusl), then use clean soil to perform Tayammum, wiping your faces and arms (including elbows) with it (with the soil)”.

[Surah Maa’idah, verse 6]

When one is unable to use water at a time when Ghusl is compulsory, Tayammum may be performed and Salaah then completed. The Tayammum made for Ghusl is just like the Tayammum made for Wudhu.

(4) A Sunnah The Masnoon Qiraa’ah for the Isha Salaah
Rasulullaah (SAW) used to recite the likes of Surah Shams during the Isha Salaah.

[Tirmidhi 309, from Hadhrat Buraydah (RA)]

(5) An Important Act and its Virtue The reward for a single day’s optional fast
Rasulullaah (SAW) said, “If a person is rewarded with as much gold as could fill the earth in lieu of a single day’s optional fast observed for Allaah’s pleasure, it will still not be adequate reward even if this continues until the Day of Qiyaamah.”

[Kanzul Ummaal 24151, from Hadhrat Anas (RA)]

(6) A Sin Raising the head before the Imaam
Rasulullaah (SAW) said, “Does the person who raises his head before the Imaam not fear that his head will be transformed into that of a donkey or that he himself becomes a donkey?”

[Bukhaari 691, from Hadhrat Abu Hurayrah (RA)]

(7) This World Never be preoccupied with this world
Rasulullaah (SAW) said, “Never keep your hearts preoccupied with thoughts of this world.”

[Kanzul Ummaal 6150, from Hadhrat Muhammad bin Nasr (RA)]

(8) The Aakhirah The Day of Qiyaamah
Allaah says in the Qur’aan, (This will occur) On the day when the spirit (Jibra’eel (AS) and every living being) and the angels will stand (humbly) in rows, (overawed by Allaah’s presence) none of them will be able to speak except the one whom Ar-Rahmaan permits (to speak) and who speaks correctly (what is appropriate). That is the Day of Truth. So whoever wills (desires salvation) should adopt a recourse towards his Rabb (should accept Islaam and diligently fulfil the injunctions of the Shari’ah)”.

[Surah Naba, verses 38-39]

(9) Cures from the Qur’aan and Rasulullaah (SAW) Treating joint pains with figs
Rasulullaah (SAW) said, “Eat figs because if I had to name a fruit of Jannah it would be the fig since the fruits of Jannah do not have seeds. Eat it because it cures piles and alleviates joint pains.”

[Kanzul Ummaal 28276, from Hadhrat Abu Dharr (RA)]

(10) Qur’aanic Advice
Allaah says in the Qur’aan, “Your Rabb says, “Supplicate (make Du’aa) to Me, I shall respond (in a manner that is most beneficial for you). Verily, those who are too proud to worship Me shall soon enter Jahannam in humiliation”.

[Surah Mu’min, verse 60]
