|Black magic was very widely practised in the city of Babylon amongst the Jews and they could achieve such feats through this that some people actually claimed to be prophets performing miracles. Allaah then sent two angels by the names of Haaroot and Maaroot, who taught people how to recognise black magic. However, the people started to learn from them in order to practise the trade even though the angels informed them that this would be a trial for them. The people, however, refused to accept the warning and continued to dabble in this evil practise to achieve their own motives.|
