(1) Islaamic History The people of Saba
There was a nation called the Saba who lived in a valley in a town named Ma’aarib. The kings of the town had constructed a large damn in this valley, which was famously known as Saddul Ma’aarib, which effectively contained waters flowing from the north and the south. Because of the tremendous irrigation provided by the dam, an area of more than 300 square miles was filled with plantations and gardens. Fragrant flowers and delicious fruits were to be found in abundance wherever one went. Although the people of Saba used to worship Allaah and show obedience to him, a time came when they became so steeped in their luxuries that they forgot Who had given them all these bounties and they started to commit kufr. Allaah sent numerous Ambiyaa i to guide them, but they refused to believe any of them. Allaah’s punishment eventually came to them when Allaah made their dam burst its walls causing the water to come rushing down the valley, killing everyone and destroying all the plantations. Allaah says in the Qur’aan, “This was the punishment We gave them for their ingratitude. We punish only the extremely ungrateful ones”.

[Surah Saba, verse 17]

(2) Allaah’s Power The joints of the body
Allaah has created joints in the bodies of all living creatures without which they would be unable to move. People fail to appreciate this mobility Allaah has afforded them until the time comes when a bone breaks and they have to suffer immobility of some limb for a while. The joints that Allaah has given us are truly a great bounty that we need to be grateful for.

[Mustadrak 7263, from Hadhrat Abu Bakrah (RA)]

(7) This World Greed for this world
Rasulullaah (SAW) said, “If a person has two valleys full of gold, he will wish for a third and it will only be the sand of the grave which will eventually fill his belly. Allaah will always accept the repentance of those who turn to Him.”

[Bukhaari 6436, from Hadhrat Abdullaah bin Abbaas (RA)]

(8) The Aakhirah Who will enter Jannah?
Allaah says in the Qur’aan that the person to enter Jannah will be “The one who feared Allaah without seeing Him and has arrived with a repentant heart (a heart that is attached to Allaah). (Upon reaching Jannah, they will be told) “Enter it (Jannah) in peace (without any fear of hardship or fear of being removed). This is a day of eternal life.” They shall have whatever they desire there (in Jannah) and We even have something extra for them (they will see Allaah Himself and would have secured His everlasting pleasure)”.                                     [Surah Qaaf, verses 33-35]
(9) Cures from the Qur’aan and Rasulullaah (SAW) Cleansing the stomach

Fear Allaah and speak what is right (speak the truth, speak with justice, speak of matters related to Deen and speak everything good, especially the Dhikr of Allaah). (If you do this,) Allaah will correct (accept) your (good) deeds and forgive you your sins. Whoever obeys Allaah has succeeded tremendously”.

[Surah Ahzaab, verses 70-71]
